Calendula & CempasúchilUpdated 10 months ago
The calendula flower is closely related to the Mexican cempasúchil flower. A plant of the composite family, native to Mexico.
The flower has a special meaning and effect in Mexican culture, especially during the holiday Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead).
Apart from its symbolic meaning, cempasúchil, as well as calendula, has many health benefits:
- Anti-inflammatory: it contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can help relieve inflammation in the body.
- Antibacterial effect: it has antibacterial properties that can help fight bacterial infections and impurities.
- Antioxidant action: It contains antioxidants that fight free radicals responsible for skin damage and premature ageing. Cempasúchil has a particularly high dermal availability.
- Moisturising: it contains natural moisturisers such as hyaluronic acid, which help the skin to retain moisture and reduce dryness.
Several of our products contain natural calendula as it is comparable to Cempasúchil extract and is EU approved.
